Virgin Atlantic increases weekly flights to 13 from Bengaluru.

Virgin Atlantic has announced plans to increase the number of flights between Bengaluru and London Heathrow Airport from 11 to 13 per week starting on June 1, 2026, and continuing until the end of the summer. The action is a big step toward the route’s double-daily operations.

The improved schedule comes after the airline added more frequencies earlier this year and builds on its expanding presence in Bengaluru. It is a reflection of Virgin Atlantic’s ongoing efforts to improve connection in important international markets and fortify its India network.

Outside of the US, India continues to be Virgin Atlantic’s biggest growth region. The airline’s double-daily flights from London Heathrow to Delhi and Mumbai are complemented by the increased Bengaluru service. Additionally, it enhances the airline’s collaboration with IndiGo, allowing for smooth connections to over 30 locations throughout India, such as Goa, Amritsar, and Jaipur.

Bengaluru, a significant center for innovation and technology, is crucial to international business travel. Through Virgin Atlantic’s joint venture with Delta Air Lines and Air France-KLM, the additional frequency is anticipated to improve connection between India and the UK as well as access to onwards destinations throughout North America, such as Toronto, Seattle, San Francisco, and New York JFK.

The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, which has 31 Upper Class, 35 Premium, and 192 Economy seats in addition to the airline’s iconic Upper Class social space, is still used for the Bengaluru route.

With a capacity increase of more than 250% since 2019, Virgin Atlantic has greatly extended its operations in India, presently providing more than 500,000 seats per year between the UK and India. By adding six crew members to each flight on India routes, the airline is also improving onboard service.

In a related development, Virgin Atlantic announced that from March 28 to May 15, 2026, flight VS358/359 on the London Heathrow–Mumbai route will use the Airbus A350. In order to meet demand at the busiest travel time, the aircraft upgrade will increase capacity on the route by almost 30%.
