The hotel is scheduled to debut in early 2029 and will be part of Terrace Africa’s Highlands Precinct, a mixed-use development that includes hotels, restaurants, retail establishments, homes, and conference spaces. The 140 rooms and suites on the site are intended to provide business and leisure travellers with high-end, reasonably priced lodging with contemporary conveniences. The hotel will provide locations for visitors to work, meet, eat and relax on the premises, including an all-day dining restaurant with a terrace, a lobby café and bar, a gym, a pool with a terrace and meeting rooms.

Carlos Khneisser, Chief Development Officer, Middle East & Africa, Hilton stated, “With Zimbabwe welcoming more than 1.7 million international arrivals in 2025 and Harare serving as a key commercial, diplomatic, and regional gateway, we see strong opportunity to bring Hilton Garden Inn to a market where demand from business and leisure travellers continues to grow. We are pleased to collaborate with Terrace Africa to bring Hilton Garden Inn’s dependable guest experience, thoughtful facilities, and sparkling service to Harare.”

Brett Abrahamse, Director of Terrace Africa stated, “Our Highlands Precinct has been designed as a connected urban destination that reflects Harare’s growth and evolving lifestyle needs. A significant turning point for the precinct, the partnership with Hilton to open its first hotel in Zimbabwe supports our goal of building premium, mixed-use spaces that benefit locals, companies and tourists alike. Together, we are introducing a well-known hospitality brand to a location planned for the city’s future.”

With more than 70 trading hotels and over 100 in the works, more than half of which are in Sub-Saharan Africa, Hilton’s strong momentum throughout Africa is strengthened by the agreement.
