Hotel bookings for Valentine’s weekend (February 13-16) have jumped by 58% year-on-year, according to statistics from Adara, a RateGain firm, signalling a significant shift in how romance is being celebrated in India.
Agra leads with a remarkable 2000% surge in bookings, showing the appeal of Taj Mahal. Close behind is Jaisalmer, up 1400%, where couples are exchanging dinner reservations for champagne sunsets over the Thar desert and starlit meals in heritage havelis.
Madikeri in Coorg has experienced a 1100% spike; Puducherry has jumped 1000%, while Goa has registered an 800% increase. Destinations like Kevadia (up 300%) and New Tehri (up 100%) also saw the increase.
Bengaluru (269%), Ooty (200%), and Udaipur (550%) complete the list, each providing a unique retreat experience.
Valentine’s weekend coincides with India’s biggest wedding season February 2026 alone offers many marriage dates. Pre-wedding trips, private staycations, and couples incorporating Valentine’s Day into their wedding celebrations are all reflected in the spike.
