IHCL expands its luxury presence in Himachal Pradesh with Taj Dharamshala.

The Taj Dharamshala, a brownfield premium hotel project in Himachal Pradesh with room to grow, has been signed by Indian Hotels Company (IHCL). IHCL’s footprint in one of India’s fastest-growing leisure destinations is further strengthened by the deal.

Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President-Real Estate & Development, IHCL, commented on the development, saying, “Dharamshala attracts a diverse mix of travellers, shaped by its spiritual significance and evolving tourism demand.” In the picturesque state of Himachal Pradesh, IHCL, which is renowned for its dedication to responsible destination development, has extended its leisure itinerary. For this project, we are happy to collaborate with Atman Resort and Cottages LLP.

Sweeping views of the valley and the snow-capped Dhauladhar range may be seen from the 105-key Taj Dharamshala. The heritage wing, formerly known as White Haven Estate, which was the Viceroy’s summer home in the late 1800s, will be renovated to represent the allure and personality of the hills. The hotel has two speciality restaurants, a bar, a lobby lounge and an all-day dining restaurant. Visitors can relax in the gym, the indoor temperature-controlled pool, or the renowned J Wellness Circle spa. The hotel provides a banquet hall, a terrace, pre-function areas, and fully furnished conference rooms for social events.

Atman Resort and Cottages LLP partners Sahil Sharma, Sadhna Sharma, and Mrinal Sneh Singh stated, “We are happy to work with IHCL to revitalise this historic property.” The hotel will boost tourism at the location and open up new possibilities for the neighbourhood.

One of India’s top spiritual and recreational attractions is Dharamshala, which is tucked away in the foothills of the Dhauladhar range. The hill town, which is home to the residence of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the Namgyal Monastery, Bhagsu Waterfall, Dal Lake, and the well-known Triund walking trail, draws tourists from all over the world all year long.

With the acquisition of Taj Dharamshala, IHCL will have a portfolio of 27 hotels in Himachal Pradesh, comprising 15 operational properties and 12 under construction, demonstrating the company’s ongoing commitment to growing its leisure and luxury footprint throughout India’s major tourist regions.
