Kamal Munasinghe appointed General Manager of Cinnamon Life at City of Dreams.

Kamal Munasinghe has been named General Manager of Cinnamon Life at City of Dreams, with effect from February 15, 2026. He will remain with Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts as Senior Vice President Colombo Hotels.
As the property moves into its next stage of expansion and solidifies Colombo’s standing as a center for upscale hospitality, entertainment, and business, Munasinghe will be in charge of the strategic direction and daily operations of Cinnamon Life, South Asia’s first fully integrated resort.
Having worked in both domestic and foreign hospitality for more than thirty years, Munasinghe has occupied high leadership roles with companies such as Marriott, Hyatt, and Mövenpick. He most recently oversaw operational strategies for the group’s portfolio of 17 hotels and resorts in Sri Lanka and the Maldives while serving as Chief Operating Officer of Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts.
In his past roles as General Manager of Cinnamon Grand Colombo and Area Vice President-Colombo, he helped shape the city’s upmarket hospitality scene. He served as General Manager of Alila Bangsar Kuala Lumpur under Hyatt Hotels Corporation before returning to Cinnamon.
Having worked professionally in Switzerland, Malaysia, and Vietnam, Munasinghe provides a global perspective to his leadership style, shaped by a thorough comprehension of changing consumer demands and market dynamics. He is renowned for his emphasis on innovation, adaptability, and strategic execution. He graduated from Schiller International University in Switzerland. These attributes will be crucial as Colombo develops into a competitive metropolitan destination.
His hiring coincides with a significant turning point in Sri Lanka’s tourist industry, as Cinnamon Life at City of Dreams becomes a landmark addition to the nation’s hospitality scene. Cinnamon Life, the first fully integrated resort destination in South Asia and the largest private sector investment in Sri Lanka, combines world-class entertainment, dining, shopping, and culture with opulent lodging. With 687 rooms and suites, five magnificent ballrooms, a wide variety of dining options, a first-rate shopping center, and a carefully chosen collection of more than 1,000 works of art by Sri Lankan artists, the property further solidifies its position as a hub for business, tourism, and artistic expression in Colombo.
Under Munasinghe’s direction, Cinnamon Life will keep expanding upon its solid base, realising its goal of becoming a destination that transforms, and making a significant contribution to putting Colombo on the map of the world’s travel destinations.
