Summit Hotels & Resorts Signs Two New Boutique Properties in Siliguri and Darjeeling.
Summit Hotels and Resorts has expanded its reach throughout the Darjeeling and Siliguri region, one of Eastern India’s fastest-growing tourism corridors, by signing two new boutique hotels in North Bengal. Summit Gulma River Resort in Siliguri and Summit Falling Water near Darjeeling, two 30-room boutique resorts focused on nature-led experiences and intimate hospitality formats, have been signed by the hospitality firm. The Darjeeling project is slated to open in early January 2027, while the Siliguri site is anticipated to open on August 15.
Summit Gulma River Resort is being constructed as a boutique hotel location that combines leisure stays with event-led demand. It is situated in the Gulma region of Siliguri, with views of a running river and the picturesque Gulma Tea Estate. The hotel’s thirty rooms will have both regular and studio-style accommodations with kitchenettes that are ideal for longer visits. In addition, the hotel will have an in-house restaurant, bar, spa, gym and banquet hall that can accommodate about 150 people, making it a location for corporate events, celebrations and boutique weddings in Siliguri’s tea garden belt
The second property, Summit Falling Water, would be situated along the main roadway that connects the hill station in Rangbull, around three km before Darjeeling town. The hotel’s architecture, which integrates the building with the surrounding scenery, is inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright’s famous Fallingwater mansion and is intended as an unconventional destination stay. The hotel will have 30 rooms with private balconies with views of the surrounding hills and a natural water stream that runs through the site. Visitors can see the historic train from the hotel as the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (Toy Train) track passes right in front of the building.

In addition, the property will have a large parking lot, a restaurant, a coffee shop, a spa with a view of the stream, and a gym. It is anticipated that seasonal snowfall in the region throughout the winter will increase the destination’s allure. With these expansions, Summit Hotels & Resorts is expanding its presence in the Eastern Himalayan region. Rather than concentrating on large-scale resort constructions, the company is concentrating on smaller boutique formats that incorporate the local landscape, accessibility, and immersive stays.
