CGH Earth Saha Opens “Isai Karai” Beachfront Villa in Mahabalipuram.

In the historic seaside town of Mahabalipuram, CGH Earth Saha has announced the inauguration of Isai Karai, a five-room coastal house. Situated in one of India’s most renowned heritage environments, the boutique retreat combines the cosiness and seclusion of a traditional bungalow with the conveniences of modern hospitality, all just a short distance from the coast.
Isai Karai, which translates to “musical shore,” provides a peaceful haven with a view of the Bay of Bengal, surrounded by rich vegetation and soothed by the sea’s rhythmic noises. Situated just 50 meters from the coast and near Mahabalipuram’s famous sites, such as the UNESCO-listed Shore Temple and the imposing rock relief of Arjuna’s Penance, visitors can anticipate an exquisite fusion of nature, history, and subtle elegance
The five rooms, which are divided between a three-bedroom main residence and a separate two-bedroom unit, are designed as an intimate coastal retreat. Although rooms can be reserved individually, the space is ideal for larger families and small groups to enjoy shared spaces while maintaining privacy. The blossoming trees and flora that grow across the property’s grounds serve as inspiration for well-appointed rooms. For example, the coral jasmine plant that grows just outside in the yard is the source of the name of the ground floor Parijatham room. Beautiful ensuite bathrooms with open showers, greenery, and sunlight are included in the rooms. A laid-back garden atmosphere that opens out to the sea breeze is created by stone pathways winding through large lawns and shaded courtyards surrounded by tropical fruit trees like papaya, mango, and star fruit.
The interiors of the house honour the artistic and cultural heritage of Mahabalipuram. Locally sourced stone textures and sculptures that reflect the region’s long-standing stone-carving traditions are complemented by vibrant, cheery colours, carefully chosen artwork, and eye-catching paintings. The Tamil coast’s flavours are served in the kitchen together with other cuisines and dishes that can be tailored to the individual’s needs. Alongside freshly caught fish made with ingredients obtained locally, guests may savour authentic South Indian cuisine. The poolside barbecue station, where the day’s fish is grilled and served in the peaceful surroundings of the bungalow’s green garden, adds a laid-back charm to evenings.
The UNESCO Shore Temple, the historic Mahabalipuram Lighthouse for expansive views of the Bay of Bengal, the intriguing India Seashell Museum, and the area’s sculpture schools, where generations of craftspeople carry on the tradition of stone carving, are just a few of the many experiences Mahabalipuram has to offer. The town is a well-liked destination for water sports fans, particularly surfers, because of its beaches, which are renowned for their surf-friendly waves.
Isai Karai Bungalow is conveniently located near Chennai and Puducherry, making it the perfect location for weekend getaways, long beach stays, and private family vacations.
