Onora Hospitality to open jüSTa Darkwood Lodge & Spa in Shimla.

A heritage-style getaway in the forested Jakhu Hills has been signed by Onora Hospitality, the parent firm of the boutique hospitality brand jüSTa Hotels & Resorts. The development would be the Group’s sixth resort in Himachal Pradesh, where it presently has a Bookmark Resorts facility in Manali and jüSTa Resorts & Hotels in Mashobra, Dharamshala, Manali, and Palampur. In the middle of March, the hotel will open.

The late 19th-century home of a British engineer involved in the construction of Shimla’s early water supply system, including the Seog reservoir and its catchment area, is now home to jüSTa Darkwood Lodge & Spa. The historic building has been renovated to satisfy modern hospitality standards while maintaining the architectural features of a typical hill station home.

Ashish Vohra, founder and CEO of Onora Hospitality, stated, “With this signing, jüSTa Hotels & Resorts further strengthens its footprint in high-potential leisure destinations across North India, with a focus on character-rich properties that deliver authentic and memorable guest experiences.”

The resort, which is marketed as a high-end boutique retreat, will have guided nature walks, a dedicated yoga and indoor activity space, and a full-service spa. In place of the Mall Road’s commercial activities, an English-style café with a view of the woodland has been planned.
