Goa Tourism signs MoU to boost wellness tourism.

The Memorandum of Understanding would enable coordinated efforts to promote and grow wellness tourism in Goa by offering a comprehensive framework for cooperation. Gomantak Ayurved Mahavidyalaya and Research Centre (GAMRC), Shiroda, Goa, and the Department of Tourism, Government of Goa, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The Minister of Tourism, Rohan A. Khaunte, Kedar Ashok Naik (GCS), Director of the Department of Tourism, Dr. Neelesh Pramod Korde, Principal, Gomantak Ayurved Mahavidyalaya and Research Centre, Dr. Sneha Bhagwat, President of the Goa Council of Ayurvedic and other related Indian systems of medicine, Dr. Minal Joshi, Deputy Director (AYUSH) DHS Govt of Goa, Dr. Dharmendra Desai, Vice President, and Dr. Joy Periera, the officiating Registrar, were Under the MoU, both parties will collaborate to promote Ayurveda- and Yoga-based wellness tourism in Goa through the development of bespoke wellness packages and coordinated marketing campaigns across digital platforms and national and international forums.
Additionally, the alliance aims to construct wellness tourism infrastructure, such as Ayurvedic and yoga centres at tourism sites, AYUSH information centres, promotional materials, and capacity-building via research, training, and knowledge sharing. “Wellness tourism is an important pillar of Goa’s evolving tourism narrative,” stated Rohan Ashok Khaunte, Minister of Tourism, Government of Goa, in reference to the cooperation.
By combining ancient knowledge systems with organised tourism development, Goa is able to provide genuine, superior wellness experiences while generating long-term benefits for local organisations and communities. “The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding provides a structured framework for collaboration in wellness tourism,” stated Kedar Ashok Naik, Director of Tourism, Government of Goa. It will promote the creation of wellness-related programs in line with the State’s tourist goals and allow for coordinated efforts in training, promotion, and information sharing.
