Six Senses Signs Second Greater China Property in Beijing.

With the opening of a new urban retreat in the Haidian District, Six Senses has announced the signing of Six Senses Beijing, marking the brand’s debut in China’s capital. The hotel management deal was struck with Beijing Zhongguancun Avenue Construction & Development Group as part of Liulangzhuang’s larger revitalisation, which is turning the neighbourhood into a center for international exchange and cultural programs.
The development has significant cultural and heritage value since it is situated inside the ancient Three Hills and Five Gardens setting, which is strongly linked to the Summer Palace and the Qing dynasty’s royal retreats.
Neil Palmer, the company’s chief operating officer stated, “Six Senses has always sought destinations with a strong story. Six Senses Beijing has an amazing environment. We are honoured to be a part of Liulangzhuang’s revitalisation, as the Three Hills and Five Gardens area holds great cultural and historical significance. We are excited to work with our partners to create an urban retreat that will allow visitors to experience the essence of Beijing in a way that is both rejuvenating and therapeutic.”
Along with Six Senses Qing Cheng Mountain, ix Senses Beijing will be the brand’s second location in Greater China as it keeps growing its footprint in important international locations.
Seventy-five guest rooms and suites will be included in the project, which aims to modernise historic Siheyuan courtyard residences. In keeping with the site’s historical nature as former imperial rice terraces, the layout will include lotus ponds, private gardens, and canals.
A two-story house will host private events and exclusive get-togethers, while dining and public areas will be dispersed around waterfront pavilions connected by boat access and hutong-style walkways.
With hallmark Six Senses services like customised screenings, biohacking experiences, and sleep-focused therapies, wellness will continue to be a key component of the offering. The brand’s Earth Lab and Alchemy Bar, which emphasise sustainability and interactive visitor interaction, will also be included in the facilities.
“Six Senses Beijing reflects a shared commitment from all partners to deliver a project of extraordinary quality, with a deep commitment to wellness and sustainability throughout,” stated Cheng Yue, Chairman of Beijing Haidian Urban Renewal Development. Beijing will create a destination with lasting value by utilising the strengths of the Six Senses brand throughout the whole design and construction process.
With the signing, Six Senses’ global presence within the IHG Hotels & Resorts portfolio which presently consists of 27 locations in 20 countries is further strengthened. Future growth is anticipated in Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.
