Akasa Air adds its 40th aircraft to bolster its fleet.
Akasa Air has inducted its 40th aircraft, marking a significant milestone in its growth journey since commencing operations in August 2022. The newly delivered Boeing 737 MAX 8-200, registered as VT-YBQ, arrived at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru on July 3, 2026, after completing its delivery flight from Seattle, USA, via Reykjavik, Iceland, and Cairo, Egypt.
The aircraft features a high-density 197-seat configuration equipped with next-generation Safran Z200 seats, designed to enhance passenger comfort while improving operational efficiency. The induction of the aircraft reflects Akasa Air’s continued commitment to expanding its fleet and strengthening connectivity across its domestic and international network.
With a firm order for 226 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, the airline has one of the largest order books for the aircraft type in India. A further 186 aircraft are scheduled for delivery over the next six years, enabling the carrier to steadily increase capacity, launch new routes, and enhance flight frequencies on existing sectors.
The latest fleet addition underscores Akasa Air’s long-term growth strategy and confidence in India’s rapidly expanding aviation market.
