UHM Expands India Presence with 3 IHG Deals.

Three new hotel management agreements have been signed by United Hospitality Management (UHM) and IHG Hotels & Resorts, strengthening their cooperation and adding 182 keys to their expanding portfolio in India. Garner Corbett, voco Kanatal, and Garner Ahmedabad are among the additions, which represent a significant turning point in UHM’s growth in India since the company joined the market in December 2025 by acquiring Rosastays.
The three projects, which are slated to debut between 2027 and 2029, demonstrate UHM’s approach to creating a well-rounded portfolio throughout India’s changing hospitality scene. The 50-key hotel Garner Corbett will serve Uttarakhand’s expanding need for immersive wildlife tourism. The 40-key Garner Ahmedabad will bolster UHM’s position in one of the fastest-growing commercial hubs in western India, while the 92-key voco Kanatal will provide an elegant mountain hideaway in one of North India’s newest leisure destinations. When taken as a whole, the three acquisitions support the company’s emphasis on collaborating with owners to create expertly managed hospitality assets for both leisure and business travel.
Carlos Leal, Executive Chairman and Board Member of United Hospitality Management, stated, “Increased domestic travel, better infrastructure, and growing investor confidence are driving a new era of expansion in India’s hospitality business. In light of this, UHM considers India to be one of its most important growth markets. Our goal is to create a diversified hospitality platform that offers owners long-term value while bringing international expertise to the Indian market.”
Deepika Arora, Managing Director of United Hospitality Management India, stated, “These three acquisitions demonstrate the owners’ faith in our business model and represent a further step in growing our footprint throughout India. We still see a lot of potential in gateway cities, branded homes, mixed-use developments, and new recreational areas. Our goal is to stay focused on partnering with the right owners and the right brands.”
In the future, UHM is in advanced negotiations for a number of hotel management contracts and strategic alliances throughout Southeast Asia and India, including branded residential projects, mixed-use developments, luxury and upmarket hotels, and resorts. In order to improve its integrated hospitality platform, UHM is also assessing patented concepts related to food and beverage, fitness, and wellbeing. In Europe, the Middle East, the US, North Africa, and India, United Hospitality Management (UHM) oversees and maintains a fast growing portfolio of branded homes and mixed-use hospitality locations.
Today’s hotel owners are looking for strategic operational partners who can maintain brand identity while optimising asset performance. According to Klaus Assmann, CEO of UHM Middle East, India & Southeast Asia, “Our role is to develop the right positioning for every asset and deliver sustainable commercial performance by combining international expertise with deep local market knowledge.”
Since entering India, the firm has signed ten properties, developed specialised operations, commercial, and technical services skills, bolstered its leadership team, and set up the technological and governance frameworks needed to enable its next stage of growth. In order to achieve its long-term goal of operating more than 100 hotels nationwide, the firm is developing a strong development pipeline and now has a portfolio of 24 operational and pipeline properties in India.
