Saudi Arabia and Air India sign a Memorandum of Understanding to increase strategic partnership.
Expanding the current codeshare agreement, enhancing network connectivity between the two airlines, investigating terminal co-location, and investigating other operational and business prospects, such as collaboration between their loyalty programs, are some areas of cooperation.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed by Saudi Arabia and Air India to increase their strategic partnership. The MoU intends to improve connection between Saudi Arabia and India while fostering the ongoing expansion of travel between the two nations, building on their current codeshare arrangement.
Ibrahim Al-Omar, Director General of Saudia Group, and Campbell Wilson, CEO and Managing Director of Air India, signed the contract.
A phased approach to the partnership’s development is outlined in the MoU. Expanding the current codeshare agreement, enhancing network connectivity between the two airlines, investigating terminal co-location, and investigating other operational and business prospects, such as collaboration between their loyalty programs, are some areas of cooperation.
Additionally, the two parties will evaluate potential future expansion of the collaboration to include other airlines in their respective companies, such as Flyadeal and Air India Express.
“India is an important market for Saudia, and Air India is a valued partner in strengthening travel links between our two countries. As demand continues to rise, this cooperation will provide visitors with more options, flexibility, and seamless travel across both networks. Additionally, it will open up new avenues for operational and commercial cooperation, supporting both airlines’ growth objectives and offering potential for future expansion of the connection between our respective airline companies,” stated Al-Omar.
“As the relationship between Saudi Arabia and India continues to grow in a number of ways, there are a lot of chances for aviation to play an even bigger role in linking people, businesses, and the economies of the two countries. Air India and Saudia are in a good position to strengthen their partnership by working together more closely as carriers that cater to quickly expanding markets. We look forward to investigating a variety of new opportunities with Saudia that will support our long-term growth objectives and provide greater value to our respective customers,” continued Campbell Wilson, CEO and managing director of Air India.
As both airlines continue to bolster their global networks and meet the increasing demand for travel between Saudi Arabia and India, the Memorandum of Understanding creates a framework for the ongoing development of the relationship between Saudi Arabia and Air India, offering opportunities to expand cooperation across multiple areas.
