Following a security review, the Jammu and Kashmir LG orders the reopening of 14 tourist attractions.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha of Jammu and Kashmir issued an order on Monday to reopen 14 tourist attractions within the Union territory that had been blocked following the terror assault in Pahalgam in April of last year.
Following last year’s April 22 terror assault at the Baisaran meadow in Pahalgam, which killed 26 people, predominantly tourists, the L-G administration closed about 50 tourist attractions in J-K.
The L-G’s office said on X, “I have ordered the reopening of more tourist spots in the Kashmir and Jammu divisions, which were temporarily closed as a precautionary measure, following a thorough security review and discussions.”
This brought the total number of tourist attractions that returned following the brief closure to 26. The L-G ordered the reopening of twelve tourist attractions on September 26.
“There should be an immediate reopening of eleven tourist destinations in the Kashmir Division, including Yousmarg, Doodhpathri, Dandipora Park in Kokernag, Peer Ki Gali, Dubjan and Padpawan in Shopian, Astanpora, Tulip Garden in Srinagar, Thajwas Glacier, Hung Park in Ganderbal, and Wullar and Watlab in Baramulla,” Sinha stated.
According to him, three popular tourist destinations in the Jammu Division Mughal Maidan in Kishtwar, Devi Pindi in Reasi, and Mahu Mangat in Ramban will also reopen right away.
“After the snow is removed, three locations in the Kashmir Division Gurez, Athwatoo, and Bangus as well as one in the Jammu Division Ramkund in Ramban will reopen,” Sinha continued.
