IndiGo to launch India-Tanzania direct flights in November 2026.

On November 20, 2026, IndiGo announced the start of daily direct flights from Mumbai to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The airline is now the sole airline in India to provide direct service between Dar es Salaam and Mumbai.

Tanzania and India have a long-standing relationship based on trade, business, and cross-cultural interaction. India is one of Tanzania’s biggest economic partners, and the two countries are increasingly involved in a number of industries, including manufacturing, agriculture, and healthcare. By improving connectivity between India and East Africa, daily direct flights are anticipated to significantly boost trade, investment, tourism, and educational interactions.

Aloke Singh, Chief Strategy Officer at IndiGo stated, “Tanzania is an important economic partner for India and a gateway to East Africa, with growing demand for travel driven by trade, investment, tourism, and cultural ties. We hope to increase mobility, strengthen economic engagement, and foster closer ties between individuals and enterprises by improving direct connectivity. Our goal of establishing an unmatched domestic and expanding global network to link India with the rest of the globe is greatly advanced by the opening of this route.”

In response to the increasing demand for worldwide connectivity, the airline is currently operating direct flights from India to Nairobi, Mauritius, and the Seychelles. It also keeps developing its international network.
