Tokyo gets two new IHG Noted Collection hotels.

With the signing of two distinctive hotels in Tokyo, IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG) announced the launch of its premium collection brand, Noted Collection, in Japan. The hotels, a newly constructed hotel in Ginza and a converted property in Shinjuku, are signed with different ownership partners and mark an important turning point for the brand’s introduction into Japan.
The first Noted Collection conversion project inked in Japan is a 207-key hotel in Shinjuku’s Kabukicho neighbourhood, according to an arrangement with SC Capital Partners. The hotel will provide a unique experience that honours the uniqueness, distinctiveness, and sense of place that characterise Noted Collection while reflecting its surroundings.
Before reopening in 2027 with a unique identity, the hotel will undergo renovations and rebranding with the goal of fostering meaningful connections and unforgettable encounters. In order to promote connection and exploration, the hotel will include a warm lobby area that is connected to the restaurant and café area.
In collaboration with An Consulting, an 81-key hotel in Ginza has also joined Noted Collection, making it the first newly constructed Noted Collection hotel in Japan. The hotel, which is slated to debut in 2029, will be situated in the esteemed Ginza 8-chome neighbourhood, which is well-known for its fine eating, upscale shopping, and cultural legacy. It will be in a prime location in the center of Tokyo, just a short stroll from both Shimbashi and Ginza stations, and it will be the first time IHG has visited Ginza.
With family-friendly suites and first-rate amenities including a restaurant and bar and a fitness center, the hotel will be deliberately constructed to blend the uniqueness and sophistication of its surroundings, reflecting the character and timeless appeal of Ginza.
“Introducing Noted Collection to Japan through these two signings marks an important milestone for the brand and reflects the strong opportunity we see in the premium segment in Japan,” stated Abhijay Sandilya, Managing Director, Japan & Micronesia, IHG Hotels & Resorts, and CEO of IHG ANA Hotels Group Japan. Owners are searching more and more for adaptable brand solutions that let hotels stay unique while taking use of IHG’s worldwide reach, enterprise platform, and loyalty program.
Daisuke Hiramoto, Managing Director, Head of Japan, SC Capital Partners said, “After acquiring this property through our Japan Hospitality Fund, we saw an opportunity to enhance the guest experience and maximise the hotel’s potential. Given its size and capacity to improve unique hotels while maintaining their uniqueness, IHG Hotels & Resorts was an obvious choice for our partner.”
The hotel will mix a unique feeling of location with the character and sophistication that distinguish the neighbourhood. The hotel is situated in the famed Ginza 8-chome sector. We think the hotel will provide both domestic and foreign visitors with an appealing new hospitality experience, according to Amane Kotani, Representative Director.
IHG’s 21st brand, Noted Collection, was introduced earlier this year as a high-end line of hotels created for unique independent properties with compelling backstories. In addition to providing owners with access to IHG’s worldwide enterprise, commercial platforms, and IHG One Rewards loyalty program, Noted Collection hotels promote uniqueness, local character, and a strong sense of place. The two acquisitions in Japan add to the increasing pipeline that already includes Theobalds Estate, Noted Collection by IHG in the UK, and Cantonal Hotel Riyadh, giving Noted Collection further worldwide impetus.
