From October 26, IndiGo will fly nonstop Gaya-Bangkok.
With effect from October 26, 2026, IndiGo will begin nonstop flights between Gaya and Bangkok, hence increasing its connectivity between Thailand and India.
Gaya, the entry point to Bodh Gaya, and the Thai capital will have a direct air connection thanks to the new service, which will run twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays. It is anticipated that the route will enhance international connectivity from Bihar and facilitate pilgrimage and leisure travel.
The Mahabodhi Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is located in Bodh Gaya, one of Buddhism’s most important pilgrimage sites. It is anticipated that the direct link to Bangkok will make it easier for Buddhist pilgrims from Thailand to travel, and it will also make it easier for visitors from Bihar to reach Thailand.
On Mondays and Thursdays, flight 6E 1083 will leave Gaya at 13:15 and reach Bangkok at 17:50. On the same days, the return flight, 6E 1084, will depart Bangkok at 10:15 and reach Gaya at 12:15. The schedule is contingent upon governmental permissions, and all times are local.
By assisting lodging, transportation, and other tourism-related enterprises, the new route is also anticipated to benefit Bihar’s tourism ecosystem.
More than 140 weekly flights are being operated by IndiGo between India and Thailand, which remains a significant overseas market for Indian tourists.
Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Bhubaneswar are all directly connected to Bangkok by the airline. Additionally, it runs direct services from Delhi to Krabi and from Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, and Kolkata to Phuket.
With the addition of Gaya, IndiGo’s network in Thailand will grow even further, and direct international access to one of India’s most popular Buddhist pilgrimage sites will be made possible.
