India and Greece will now have direct flights operated by IndiGo.

IndiGo made its debut in narrow-body long-haul operations by launching nonstop flights between Mumbai, India, and Athens, Greece, using the country’s first Airbus A321XLR aircraft. IndiGo uses the same aircraft to connect Delhi and Athens.

With this, the airline becomes the first Indian carrier to offer direct service between the two nations. It anticipates operating three flights per week on each route and intends to expand its connectivity to further locations in Greece over time. According to reports, the A321XLR aircraft will have 183 Economy seats and 12 IndiGo Stretch seats.

Furthermore, IndiGo and AEGEAN’s bilateral codeshare agreement became operational, enabling IndiGo to use its 6E code on over ten of the latter’s European destinations, including those in Italy, Spain, and Bulgaria. Additionally, from its hubs in Delhi and Mumbai, AEGEAN clients will be able to connect to over ten destinations on IndiGo’s domestic and international network, including Bengaluru, Chennai, Bangkok, Hong Kong, and Colombo.
