Adani Airport Holdings Limited’s greenfield international gateway, Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA), has became one of five airports nationwide to digitally join the Ministry of Civil Aviation’s DigiYatra implementation.
For the benefit of visiting passengers, the inauguration was streamed live on a giant screen throughout the airport. Three travellers cut the ribbon at the biometric entrance points and ceremoniously utilised the DigiYatra e-gates to commemorate the event.
At airport checkpoints, DigiYatra is anticipated to use facial recognition technology to provide contactless and paperless passenger processing, cutting wait times while implementing strong data privacy and security measures.
NMIA oversees eight airports in India, including Ahmedabad, Guwahati, Jaipur, Lucknow, Mangaluru, Thiruvananthapuram, and Mumbai. It is a member of the Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL) portfolio.
