Cordelia Cruises Returns to Chennai with Southeast Asia and Sri Lanka Sailings.
The announcement that Cordelia Cruises will return to Chennai for its sixth cruise season in 2026 further solidifies the city’s expanding standing as one of India’s top cruise gateways.
According to the corporation, the Cordelia Empress will sail through the end of August after making its first visit in Chennai on June 20, 2026. Cruises to Visakhapatnam, Puducherry, Sri Lanka, and other locations in Southeast Asia will be among the two to ten-night local and foreign itineraries offered by the deployment.
Chennai has been a significant homeport for Indian cruise tourism in recent years, providing travellers with easier access to both domestic coastal sailings and overseas cruise vacations.
A 10-night Southeast Asia cruise that leaves Chennai on July 18 and travels to Phuket, Langkawi, Kuala Lumpur, and Singapore is one of the season’s main attractions.
The deployment will also include many Sri Lankan itineraries, such as a three-night Chennai Trincomalee voyage that departs on August 7 and five-night cruises that cover Hambantota, Trincomalee, and Jaffna that depart on August 10 and 17.
In addition to regular two-night weekend cruises from Chennai, Cordelia Cruises will run many five-night Chennai–Visakhapatnam–Puducherry sailings for domestic tourists throughout June and July.
A five-night westbound voyage from Chennai to Kochi and Mumbai, commencing on August 24, will also be part of the season.
Additionally, Cordelia Cruises launched an extended 13-night cruise option that combines a 10-night Southeast Asia sailing to Singapore with a three-night Visakhapatnam–Puducherry–Chennai itinerary. This allows guests to easily travel from India to Southeast Asia in a single cruise.
The deployment is intended to accommodate a variety of tourists through lengthier foreign cruise vacations, family vacations, and quick seaside getaways.

The Cordelia Empress can hold up to 1,950 passengers and has 796 staterooms in five different grades. The ship has four restaurants, nine bars and lounges, live entertainment, gaming areas, a casino, retail stores, and wellness amenities with a view of the ocean, such as a fitness center and spa.
