The Varanasi AI workshop is concluded by the IATO UP Chapter.
On March 30, the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in Varanasi hosted a successful one-day AI workshop conducted by the Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) Uttar Pradesh Chapter. The goal of the 50-person event was to provide the travel industry with the means to become “AI Ready.”
Prof. Sushma Ghildyal (Dean, Faculty of Arts, BHU) and Pawas Prasoon (Assistant Director, Ministry of Tourism, GoI) opened the workshop. P. Vijaysarthi, an IATO EC member, also attended the event. Prof. Pravin Singh Rana of BHU and Prateek Hira, the Uttar Pradesh Chapter Chairman, organised the event.
Hira, chairman of the UP Chapter stated, “Participants in our session gained valuable insights into practical AI solutions tailored specifically for the travel industry. The practical training undoubtedly made the participants AI-literate and increased our members’ confidence by empowering them to apply AI to their daily tasks and business administration. By providing individualised planning, automated services, and efficient operations that significantly increase income, AI is revolutionising the tourism industry. Additionally, through chatbots and other tools for effective resource management, these technologies improve traveller experiences.”
Prof. Jyoti Rohila Rana, Head of the Department of Tourism at BHU, and Subash Kapoor of the Varanasi Tourism Guild presided over the final session of the day, during which diplomas were given to each participant.
