VFS Global Visa Application Center to open in Bhubaneswar

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that a VFS Global Visa Application Center will be established in Bhubaneswar. The center is expected to open on April 1, 2026, which is Odisha Day, marking a significant milestone for outbound travellers from Odisha.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan posted the update on social media platform X, stating that he had written to Dr. Jaishankar to propose the creation of the center and had also spoken with Zubin Karkaria, Global CEO of VFS Global, about the issue.
The announcement states that on April 1, 2026, which is Odisha Day, the VFS Global Visa Application Center in Bhubaneswar will open for business. Families, business travellers, and students in Odisha who currently travel to Kolkata and other places for visa-related services are anticipated to greatly benefit from the provision.
According to Pradhan, the program will help candidates save time, money, and effort while creating job possibilities for young people in the area. He called the action a significant turning point in enhancing Odisha’s global connectedness.
The center will provide visa concierge services in addition to visa submission services, helping applicants with form completion, documentation advice, travel insurance, and other visa-related assistance. The enlarged services are intended to make the visa application procedure more effective, practical, and smooth, especially for families, students, and first-time visitors.
