Emirates commemorates 20 years of operations in Thiruvananthapuram, a major hub for travel, trade, and tourism as well as a crucial gateway in its South India network. Over 4.6 million people have travelled on more than 19,000 flights between Dubai and Thiruvananthapuram since Emirates began operations on February 1, 2006.
With 167 weekly flights connecting Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Thiruvananthapuram with Dubai and its vast worldwide network spanning 150 destinations across six continents, the airline currently serves nine gateways throughout India.
The event was commemorated in the presence of the Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan, underlining the strong partnership between Emirates, the state government, and important stakeholders.

Over the past two decades, Emirates has played a significant role in strengthening Thiruvananthapuram’s worldwide reach, enabling seamless connectivity to destinations across six continents via its Dubai hub. The airline has supported outbound demand from business travellers, leisure passengers, and the substantial VFR (visiting friends and relatives) segment, while simultaneously facilitating robust inbound traffic into Kerala.
