UP Tourism welcomes bidders as the International Wellness and Yoga Centre in Baghpat advances to the next phase

To guarantee expert management and high-quality amenities, the project will be carried out under a Public Private Partnership model; however, the government will continue to have overall control.

The proposed International Wellness and Yoga Centre in Baghpat has now entered the bidding stage following Cabinet approval on December 2. In order to design, fund, create, and maintain the centre as well as related spiritual and wellness amenities, the Uttar Pradesh government’s Directorate of Tourism has issued a Request for Proposals.

The project, which is intended to be one of the biggest yoga and wellness campuses in North India, is situated on 70.885 hectares of land near the village of Hariya Khurd (Pura Mahadev), tehsil Baghpat. The centre is being built in response to the growing interest in holistic health, where individuals are looking for a peaceful, environmentally friendly setting that balances mental and physical well-being as well as meditation.

According to Jaiveer Singh, minister of tourism and culture, the project demonstrates the state government’s intention to diversify tourism development and adapt to new travel trends. He claimed that as yoga has gained international prominence, especially following the widespread celebration of International Yoga Day, both domestic and foreign tourists seeking genuine and well-planned yoga sites in India have been steadily increasing.

In addition to providing structured short-term and residential programs for guests from India and elsewhere, the centre will incorporate yoga, meditation, naturopathy, and wellbeing sciences. Wellness enthusiasts, students, corporates, and working professionals looking for both short stays and extended wellness programs can easily access it due to its close proximity to Delhi NCR.

To guarantee expert management and high-quality amenities, the project will be carried out under a Public Private Partnership model; however, the government will continue to have overall control. Principal Secretary of Tourism and Culture Amrit Abhijat stated that in addition to establishing a new wellness destination, the centre is anticipated to create direct and indirect employment opportunities in and around Western Uttar Pradesh through demand for trainers, therapists, hospitality services, transportation, and local businesses.
