With over 1,000 female pilots, women comprise 17.5% of IndiGo’s pilot workforce.

Overall 45% of the airline's workforce, 30% of airport operations employees, and about 25% of operations control center employees.

As the first and only airline in India to accomplish this feat, IndiGo declared that it currently employs more than 1,000 female pilots. The percentage of female pilots at IndiGo is 17.5%, more than three times the global average.

With more than 45% of its staff being female, the airline is still working to increase equitable opportunities across all roles. Beyond the cockpit, women make up more than 30% of airport operations employees, nearly 25% of its Operations Control Center employees, more than 20% of the banking industry, more than 15% of the digital industry, and more than 23% of leadership roles.

Sukhjit Singh Pasricha, Group Chief Human Resources Officer, IndiGo, stated, “On International Women’s Day, we are proud to announce that IndiGo now has over 1,000 women pilots, among the highest in the world. This achievement perfectly captures the essence of Girl Power at IndiGo. We are dedicated to giving bright women greater chances to fly and influence the future of aviation as we continue to provide the country with wings.”

In addition, IndiGo released a unique short on Girl Power in honour of International Women’s Day that showed IndiGo women enjoying life-changing events.

Girl Power is one of the many programs the airline operates under the EMBRACE (Equity, Multiculturalism, Belonging, Respect, Accessibility, Community, Empowerment) banner. According to reports, the airline promotes gender equality, highlights the abilities of persons with disabilities (PwDs), and creates a welcoming workplace for individuals from other backgrounds.
