Stuttgart Airport’s renovated lounge is reopened by Lufthansa
On December 16, 2025, Lufthansa reopened its renovated lounge at Stuttgart Airport after a thorough refurbishment, providing travellers with a contemporary, adaptable, and comfort-focused experience. With designated areas for eating, working, unwinding, and enjoying more solitude, the renovated lounge has been carefully redesigned to meet the changing demands of visitors. The Business Lounge and the Senator Lounge, two exclusive spaces in the renovated building, are both reachable through an automated digital access control system. Every lounge has several comfort zones that let visitors customise their stay, whether they want to work quietly, relax, read, or retire into more secluded areas. The lounge experience is further improved with a well chosen assortment of food, drinks, periodicals, and newspapers. The recently opened barista coffee bar, which serves freshly made coffee speciality made with beans from a nearby roaster, is a noteworthy element of the Senator Lounge. Lufthansa’s emphasis on first-rate service and local authenticity is reflected in this addition. During the shutdown, many VIP guests in Stuttgart very much missed “their lounge,” according to Heiko Reitz, Hub Manager Munich and CCO of Lufthansa Airlines. Therefore, I am even more thrilled that, following major renovations and a new idea, we can now reopen the Business and Senator Lounges. For the Lufthansa Group, Stuttgart Airport continues to be a vital hub. The group flies from STR to around 60 locations in 21 countries, mostly with Lufthansa and Eurowings, with Austrian Airlines and SWISS providing supplementary services. This year, Lufthansa celebrated its 70th anniversary at Stuttgart Airport, highlighting its enduring presence in the area.
