Thailand MotoGP 2026 kicks off the World Championship season in Buriram.
Long-term planning and execution are made possible by the extended hosting agreement through 2031, which guarantees uniform standards, high worldwide awareness, and a long lasting economic impact on host communities and neighbouring provinces.
Thailand will host the first round of the 2026 MotoGP World Championship from February 27 to March 1 at Chang International Circuit, according to the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT). This is the second year in a row that the Kingdom has been chosen as the season opener, highlighting Thailand’s demonstrated ability to host top-notch international sporting events.
Under the direction of the Sports Authority of Thailand and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the PT Grand Prix of Thailand 2026 will take place in Buri Ram. Leading industry supporters from the motorsport, energy, mobility, and hospitality sectors will also be present, along with partners from the public and private sectors, such as the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), the Department of Land Transport, and the Road Safety Fund.
“MotoGP represents far more than a single sporting fixture for the country,” stated TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool. The championship is a worldwide event that draws elite tourists, especially motorsport fans who come in groups, stay longer, and continue their travels to other regions of Thailand. This travel pattern broadcasts a favourable image of Thailand to audiences in more than 200 nations globally while also providing real revenue for local communities. Along with a complete schedule of spectator and family events, the World Championship program in Buri Ram will include all three of the top racing classes: MotoGP, Moto2, and Moto3.
The race weekend will be transformed into a major international motorsport festival with rider meet and greets, live entertainment at Chang Music Connection, interactive spectator zones, and carefully planned activities that emphasise Thai culture and regional character.
