The Bundelkhand tourist Stakeholders Meet highlights the travel potential and new tourist options in the region.

To highlight the region’s tourism potential, the Indian Ministry of Tourism, in partnership with Uttar Pradesh Tourism, arranged the Bundelkhand Tourism Stakeholders Meet, which was followed by a Familiarisation (FAM) Tour to Jhansi and surrounding areas.
About 80 people attended the meeting, which took place at Natraj Sarovar Portico Jhansi. Attendees included tour operators, travel agents, tour guides, hoteliers, homestay operators, media representatives, and representatives from the State Archaeology Department, Bundelkhand University, Jhansi Museum, Uttar Pradesh Tourism, and the Ministry of Tourism. The initiative sought to increase cooperation between government agencies and tourism partners while showcasing Bundelkhand’s tourism potential
Dignitaries were welcomed and ceremonial lamps were lit to start the celebration. Assistant Director of the Ministry of Tourism Sandeep Shukla greeted the attendees and stressed the value of teamwork in advancing Bundelkhand tourism. The relevance of integrated tourist development in promoting regional economic growth was emphasised by D.K. Sharma, Regional Tourist Officer, Uttar Pradesh tourist.
The president of the Bundelkhand Travel Agents Association, Anirudh Rawat, discussed how to market Bundelkhand as a significant tourist destination and prospects for travel trade alliances. Prof. Devesh Nigam, Dean and Head of Department at Bundelkhand University’s Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management, offered an academic viewpoint and underlined the significance of talent development in bolstering the tourism ecosystem.
Speaking to the stakeholders, Arun Srivastava, Joint Director General of the Ministry of Tourism, discussed the Ministry’s efforts to support sustainable tourism and urge increased involvement from the travel and hospitality sector.
Awanish Kumar, the Tourist Information Officer, gave a thorough presentation on the registration procedure for service providers on the Ministry of Tourism’s NIDHI Portal, urging interested parties to sign up and join the national tourism database.
Following a vote of appreciation by Sanjay Kumar, the Ministry of Tourism’s tourist information officer, there was a business-to-business networking session that gave officials, media representatives, and tourism stakeholders a chance to network and discuss possible partnerships.
A three-day FAM Tour from March 7 to 9, 2026, was planned as part of the project so that participants may see important tourist destinations in and surrounding Jhansi. The tour’s objective was to acquaint tourism industry and media officials with the Bundelkhand region’s historical, cultural, and heritage areas so they could more successfully market these locations to both domestic and foreign travellers.
The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, and Uttar Pradesh Tourism’s ongoing dedication to promoting Bundelkhand as a developing travel destination on the national and international tourism map is reflected in this project.
