With the official appointment of Anil Kumar Sinha as Nepal’s Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, a term centred on institutional development and sustainable tourism has begun.
Environmental sustainability was one of Sinha’s top priorities when he took government. The acceptance of an action plan centred on conservation and cleanliness in the Himalayan region was one of his first official acts, reaffirming Nepal’s dedication to ethical and sustainable tourist practices.
In keeping with Nepal’s long-term sustainability goals, he emphasised the pressing need to preserve delicate mountain ecosystems while juggling the expansion of tourism.
Additionally, he stated that his first priorities will be resolving internal issues inside the Ministry, enhancing departmental and subordinate agency collaboration, and enhancing institutional governance and efficiency.
In addition to congratulating him, the Nepal Tourism Board expressed its willingness to collaborate closely with the Ministry under his direction in order to improve Nepal’s competitiveness in the international tourism market.
Notably, Sinha was the Government of Nepal’s Minister for Industry, Commerce, and Supplies in his prior position.
