Nasser Al Sharji is appointed CEO of Oman Air.
Nasser Al Sharji has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Oman Air, with effect from September 1, 2026.
Al Sharji has over 25 years of experience in executive leadership, operational excellence, and company transformation. He provides a wealth of knowledge from important industries like aviation, logistics, and government services related to oil and gas. He has led significant national programs and organisational transformation initiatives while serving in senior leadership roles at ASYAD Group, OQ, and Nama Water Services. Al Sharji most recently held the positions of Acting CEO of Oman Airports Management Company and CEO of Transom Handling.
Con Korfiatis, who has been Oman Air’s CEO since May 2024, will be replaced by Al Sharji. Under his direction, the airline has strengthened its position in a fiercely competitive market while making significant strides toward increased operational effectiveness, financial sustainability, and organisational effectiveness. As the CEO’s advisor, Korfiatis will continue to assist Oman Air, offering stability and direction as the airline advances.

We have no doubt that Oman Air will continue to build on the tremendous advancements made in recent years and solidify its standing as Oman’s national carrier under his direction,” stated Saeed Al Mawali, Chairman of Oman Air and Oman’s Minister of Transformation, Communications, and Information Technology, in response to the appointment.
