Emirates unveils electric Premium Economy seats with full-height privacy screens.
Emirates introduced the world’s first electrically powered Premium Economy seat with a full-height adjustable privacy screen between seats. The new Premium Economy package on the airline’s newly delivered Airbus A350 will increase privacy, personal control, and connectivity.
In a 2-3-2 layout with 28 seats, the new Premium Economy cabin has an electrically powered privacy divider that extends to seat height. With seat controls, passengers can raise or lower the screen and lock it for more privacy when relaxing, dining, or working.
The A350 has 20-inch seats with a 39-inch pitch. Reclining into a cradle doesn’t interfere with people behind.

Electrical Controls and Comfort
Emirates introduced its first fully electric Premium Economy seat. The integrated Passenger Control Unit lets customers alter their seating position with a button, including lounge and meal modes.
The seat has Safran Seats’ U-Dream headrest. The leather headrest has adjustable wings to support the head and neck. A manually deployable leather footrest improves comfort on extended trips.
Premium Economy Gets Wireless Charging
For the first time, Emirates is offering wireless charging in Premium Economy for compatible devices.
Each seat has USB-C connectivity and a tray table with a phone holder, letting customers utilise their gadgets as second screens while dining or watching.
4K Video with A350 Camera Views
Emirates’ ice inflight entertainment system will be accessible via a 13.3-inch 4K HDR touchscreen.
New A350s will have more external camera views. Left and right external perspectives will join forward and downward camera views, providing passengers new ways to track the plane from their seats.
Premium Economy Dining Improved
Emirates Premium Economy serves regionally inspired meals on Royal Doulton china with linen napkins and Robert Welch stainless-steel silverware. The new seat expands on this.
Emirates Premium Economy serves Chandon Vintage Brut 2021, an Australian sparkling wine.
On some routes in September, customers will also receive Chablis Premier Cru Jean-Marc Brocard 2024 and La Parde de Haut-Bailly 2014. Emirates’ first English sparkling wine, Wiston Estate Brut NV, will be served only in Premium Economy on UK flights in October.
Emirates says it invested over $1 billion in wine since 2006.
Long-haul flight amenity kits updated
Premium Economy passengers on long-haul flights receive United for Wildlife-developed reusable amenity packages.
The kits feature endangered creatures in four natural environments and use bio-based materials like cactus leather. They offer socks, eye sunglasses, earplugs, and a dentistry kit in Premium Economy, along with Aveda plant-powered skincare.
Emirates launched Premium Economy in 2022 and has expanded it across its fleet. All A350 markets now offer the cabin.
Emirates Premium Economy was named ‘Best Premium Economy Class’ at the 2024 and 2025 Business Traveller Middle East Awards and ‘Airline with the Best Premium Economy Class’ at the 2025 ULTRAs Awards.
As Emirates introduces new cabin improvements across its fleet, the electrically powered seat and full-height privacy barrier round out its Premium Economy offering.
